This practice, rooted in Yoga Nidra, or Yogic Sleep, will help you attain a state of profound relaxation and rejuvenation while staying awake. Find a quiet, comfortable place where you can relax without interruptions.
[00:01:28] This could be a soft mat, a cozy chair, or your bed. Lie down or recline comfortably, ensuring your body is supported. Place a cushion under your knees to relieve your lower back, and a small pillow under your head to keep your neck aligned. Ensure you are warm and ready to let go of the outside world. The goal is to relax deeply without falling asleep.
[00:01:57] Close your eyes gently. Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose. Then, exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat this process a few times, each breath guiding you deeper into relaxation.
[00:02:27] Feel the breath entering your body, bringing calmness and serenity. Exhale any tension or stress, letting it flow out of your body. Imagine yourself in a serene, peaceful place. This could be a quiet lakeside, a lush meadow, or a tranquil garden. Visualize this place clearly, taking in the sounds, scents, and sights around you.
[00:02:58] Let the tranquility of this scene wash over you. With each breath, feel more connected to this place, allowing it to guide you into deeper relaxation. Now, we'll move through the body, bringing awareness to each part. As I guide you, imagine a warm, soothing light flowing through each area, releasing tension and promoting relaxation.
[00:03:29] Start with your toes. Feel the warm light gently touching your toes, spreading to your feet and relaxing them completely. Move this light up to your ankles.
[00:04:04] Feel your lower legs becoming heavy and relaxed. Continue to your thighs and hips. Allow the light to ease any tension, bringing a sense of deep relaxation to your entire lower body. Bring the light to your lower back and abdomen.
[00:04:35] Feel your core relaxing, releasing any tightness. Move to your chest and upper back. With each breath, allow the light to expand, relaxing your chest and shoulders. Now bring your attention to your hands.
[00:05:02] Feel the light moving through your fingers, hands, and wrists, relaxing them completely. Continue up your arms to your elbows and upper arms. Let the light flow, releasing any remaining tension.
[00:05:30] Finally, bring the light to your neck and head. Relax your jaw. Soften your eyes. And let your forehead become smooth. Feel the light enveloping your entire head, bringing a deep sense of calm. With your body fully relaxed, focus on your breath.
[00:06:02] Imagine each inhale bringing in peace. And each exhale, releasing any residual stress. Picture yourself walking through a serene forest. Trees are tall and majestic. Their leaves rustling softly in the breeze. Feel the ground beneath your feet. The fresh scent of pine in the air.
[00:06:33] Hear the gentle sounds of nature. Birds singing. A distant stream flowing. As you walk, you come across a clearing with a comfortable spot to sit. You settle down, feeling at one with nature. Allow this connection with the natural world to deepen your relaxation.
[00:07:00] Gradually, bring your awareness back to the present moment. Notice the sensations in your body, the sounds around you, and the feeling of the surface beneath you. Gently wiggle your fingers and toes.
[00:07:26] When you're ready, roll onto your right side in a fetal position, taking a moment to rest. Slowly come up to a seated position.
