[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_01]: was all consuming and inconceivable.
[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_01]: However, shortly after the post-engagement bliss lifted, I found my thoughts, conversations, and spare time
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_01]: consumed by wedding planning. Although assured the stress was normal, I felt unnerved by the time commitment,
[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_01]: cost, and wait associated with planning the happiest day of my life. I realized a traditional
[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_01]: wedding wasn't for me and began towing with the idea of planning a minimalist wedding.
[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I discussed the idea with my partner, he loved it and we nervously declared we are going to
[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_01]: plan this wedding in one week. We threw out all of our previous planning set an incredibly modest
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_01]: wedding budget and began finalizing decisions. In spite of nasayers and doubters, our minimalist
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_01]: wedding was a smashing success. Since so many brides to be have been curious about how we planned
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_01]: hours in one week, here are some tips to help guide you. Number 1. Post to the wedding at a free venue.
[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Selecting a venue is undoubtedly one of the most stressful components of wedding planning.
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Not to mention that rental deposit will make a sizable dent in your wedding budget.
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Skip the stress when planning your minimalist wedding. Instead, focus your energy on selecting a
[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_01]: location you and your partner would be honored to exchange vows in. Start by compiling a list of
[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_01]: your favorite free or almost free locations. Think mountains, barns, lofts, rivers, parks, waterfalls,
[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: beaches, libraries, ransches, warehouses, forested areas, aquariums, museums,
[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_01]: and pretty much anywhere else. Number 2. Plan your honeymoon first.
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_01]: For many couples, honeymoon planning is entirely dependent on what leftover cash can be
[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_01]: squeezed from the wedding budget. Many couples even forfeit were postponed their honeymoon
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_01]: as a consequence of exceeding their wedding budget. Do it backwards when it comes to your minimalist
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_01]: wedding. Plan your dream honeymoon and then use the leftover cash to plan your wedding.
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Another week spent bathing in post-wetting bliss and California sunshine will make for
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: going the monogrammed wedding napkins worth it. Number 3. Use natural, borrowed or refurbished
[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_01]: decorations. Browsing a list of necessary wedding decor will make any minimalist head hurt.
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Flowers, welcome signs, placemats, lighting, cake toppers, aisle markers, programs, etc.
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: All to be lost in the post-wetting abyss of wilted flowers and dusty storage boxes.
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Instead of investing in things you will never use again to satisfy the wedding status quo,
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_01]: use natural, borrowed or refurbished items to create whimsical decorations for your wedding.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Besides, if you've chosen to exchange vows nestled in a lush forest, you'll hardly need
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_01]: decorations at all. If you've opted for a loft or warehouse venue, natural decorations such
[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_01]: as leaves, tree branches and wildflowers can be used to add light to the bear space.
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_01]: If you are in need of key pieces, think outside the box. Ask your guests if they have items
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_01]: you can borrow or alter for the day. Number 4. Digitize your wedding invitations.
[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_01]: The majority of our communication is carried out on digital platforms.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_01]: So, why are wedding invitations among the only items we print, signs, seal and deliver?
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Instead of spending hours pouring over invitation designs, simply send out your wedding
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_01]: invitations online. The environmentally friendly, cost-effective alternative will allow you to provide
[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_01]: real-time updates to your friends and family. An interactive platform such as a wedding website
[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_01]: will cultivate a sense of community and bring your guests together before meeting for the big day.
[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Number 5. Don't give or receive gifts. Registries, gift bags, wedding presents, oh my!
[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_01]: The pressure is on for both guests and hosts when it comes to wedding gifts,
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_01]: often leading to a multitude of gifts neither part needs. Instead of receiving shaped
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_01]: salt and pepper shakers from Aunt Martha, opt out of gifts altogether at your minimalist wedding.
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_01]: This will alleviate pressure and rid both parties of the social obligation associated with
[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_01]: giving and receiving gifts. Instead, ask your guests to donate their time, their skills,
[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: or useful possessions to make your wedding happen. You may be surprised by the hidden talents
[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_01]: your friends and family's possess. And number 6. Make it an unplugged wedding.
[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_01]: You are about to experience one of the most intimate moments of your life. Just you, your partner,
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_01]: your friends and family. And their social media streams? In order to avoid distracted and disengaged
[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_01]: guests, make your wedding an unplugged affair. This means asking your guests to turn off their
[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_01]: phones, cameras, and mobile devices during your wedding ceremony. Although some guests may be
[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_01]: reluctant at first, they will undoubtedly be won over by the overwhelming connected, present,
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_01]: and romantic nature of the event. My husband, I still get jitters when I say that,
[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_01]: and I are incredibly happy we made the switch to a minimalist wedding, and are eternally grateful
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_01]: to all of those that helped along the way. You just listen to the post titled, six steps to help
[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_01]: you plan a minimalist wedding in one week by cat wju Jackson with no sidebar.com.
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and thanks to cat for being daring with this wedding approach, such an idea would probably
[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_01]: make a lot of people quiver in their boots. But that is the cost of trying new things sometimes.
[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_01]: And whether or not you're able to follow these steps exactly, or save as much as you might
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_01]: like to on your wedding, I think it's important to remember that the intention can stay in place.
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And the intention of this article is to make your wedding more about the experience than the
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_01]: expenses. Financial problems are the leading cause for divorce, or at least they used to be.
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_01]: It might be different now, but I'm sure it's still high on the list. And especially in this
[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_01]: day and age, those problems are likely to start with a big expensive wedding, which many couples
[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_01]: accidentally let become the focus of their relationship. You know, there's so much attention
[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_01]: put on the big wedding that big day that life afterwards is often forgotten about or at least
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_01]: considered an afterthought. And before you know it, arguments about what to spend on are replacing
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_01]: discussions about feelings and how to build a strong foundation between partners.
[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_01]: But no matter what facet of your relationships you're talking about, including the wedding,
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_01]: there's always the option to make it more about connection than about material.
[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_01]: So think about how you can make that pivot in various parts of your relationship today.
[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_01]: It is time to get going for now, but thank you so much for tuning in and staying until
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_01]: the end everybody. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and be sure to come back tomorrow
[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_01]: where you're optimal life awaits.
