[00:00:00] This is Optimal Relationships Daily, Creating a Harmonized Home to Attract Love by Karen Stanley of MrsKarenStanley.com
[00:00:11] When my kids were little and I was a single mom, I always struggled with having a perfectly organized home.
[00:00:17] Because while I prefer things to be in order and clean, I also wanted my home to be an environment where my kids could create and play
[00:00:25] and slide mattresses down the stairs and tie blankets to the banisters and make hammocks and paint and have Nerf gun wars and make forts.
[00:00:34] My top priority was not to have a clean house nor impress anyone. The only people who came over were all the kids from the neighborhood,
[00:00:42] and my house was their favorite place to be. That was my top priority.
[00:00:47] But I found that just creating a little more order and a little more harmony did change how I felt when I was in my home.
[00:00:54] When there are pillows, slash mattresses, slash blankets, slash projects, slash forts, slash laundry, slash hot wheels, slash dolls,
[00:01:02] you get the idea, scattered everywhere, there's no way that creates a peaceful situation for mom so much.
[00:01:10] Creating a little more harmony changes how you feel.
[00:01:14] When my house was a hot mess, to the point that I would have died if anyone popped in unexpectedly, I stayed single.
[00:01:21] When I slowly but surely tidied up each room one by one and made it a priority to just create more order, my whole world changed.
[00:01:30] One of the secrets for finding love is feeling good in your current home, no matter what your home looks like.
[00:01:36] I'm no feng shui expert nor an interior designer. I just know from my experience. So, I found an expert.
[00:01:44] Quote,
[00:01:46] Your home either nurtures and supports you, or it depletes your energy and leaves you exhausted. End quote.
[00:01:52] That's by interior designer and founder and CEO of Home & Harmony Lifestyle, Krista O'Leary.
[00:01:58] She goes on to say,
[00:02:00] In today's frenetic world, it is more important than ever to create a calm and peaceful space that allows you to recharge.
[00:02:08] Ask yourself.
[00:02:10] So, where do you start?
[00:02:12] The question I asked myself was this.
[00:02:14] If the man of my dreams knocked on the door right now, would I make him wait while I cleaned up?
[00:02:21] If the man of your dreams knocked on the door right now, would you make him wait?
[00:02:26] If you were going to make the love of your life wait while you tidied up, what would you be doing?
[00:02:31] You really don't want your soulmate to stand outside waiting for you to get your stuff together.
[00:02:35] So, why not do it now?
[00:02:38] Like always attracts like.
[00:02:40] So, if there is disarray in your home, you will attract disarray.
[00:02:44] If you live amid mess and disorganization, you will attract a mess.
[00:02:49] Mess equals stress.
[00:02:50] If you really took inventory and organized room by room, closet by closet, little by little, you might feel like a million bucks.
[00:03:00] Harmony takes time.
[00:03:01] An orderly house is not something that happens one Saturday afternoon.
[00:03:07] Creating harmony in your home is not something to be stressed out about.
[00:03:11] Harmony in your home is an ongoing gift you give to yourself.
[00:03:15] No one can thrive in a messy, unorganized environment.
[00:03:19] Tell the truth about each of your spaces.
[00:03:21] If you really don't feel good in your kitchen and if you can't find things easily,
[00:03:26] you might be causing yourself stress that you don't even know you're causing because things aren't in order.
[00:03:31] You may feel embarrassed about something if he popped in unannounced.
[00:03:35] Whatever you feel embarrassed about, I believe that is the universe telling you to change it.
[00:03:41] You will feel so much better if you just do it.
[00:03:44] Clean it.
[00:03:45] Throw it away.
[00:03:45] Get a new rug.
[00:03:46] I vacuumed.
[00:03:47] I dusted.
[00:03:48] I cleaned out all the closets.
[00:03:50] I gave away half of my clothes and I got new bedding.
[00:03:53] Not all in one day.
[00:03:54] Do one thing every day for 15 to 30 minutes.
[00:03:58] Put the kids to bed or get up 30 minutes earlier and clean one room, one closet, one load of laundry.
[00:04:05] It's for you.
[00:04:07] Strategies to make chores enjoyable.
[00:04:10] I used that time to listen to music or watch a YouTube video while I did chores.
[00:04:15] I used that time to reconnect with friends and family I hadn't talked to in a while.
[00:04:19] There are always plus sides to everything on your to-do list.
[00:04:23] You may think you hate doing laundry, but it still needs to be done.
[00:04:27] Getting something done feels good.
[00:04:29] Listening to my love playlist while I was getting things done helped me believe that true love exists.
[00:04:35] Listening to your favorite comedian and laughing while you're getting something done feels even better.
[00:04:40] Listening to a book or a podcast and learning while you're getting something done feels even better.
[00:04:46] You want to walk into each room of your house and be in love with it.
[00:04:50] Not because it's perfect or fancy or brand new design or BS, but because it's your home
[00:04:56] and you are excited to invite him over very soon.
[00:04:59] Envision yourself and your sweetheart in that kitchen making dinner together.
[00:05:04] Envision yourself and your man sitting on that couch holding hands watching a movie.
[00:05:08] Envision him walking into your bedroom and feel all the excitement that comes with new love.
[00:05:14] Visualizing helped me attract true love.
[00:05:16] You want to open each closet and smile because it's all in order,
[00:05:20] so you can visualize your husband there with you instead of being embarrassed for the disorder.
[00:05:25] Doing this little by little every day greatly helped me feel better and feel more calm.
[00:05:31] Getting rid of the embarrassment of untidiness helped me feel more confident about everything.
[00:05:36] I didn't attract my soulmate until I felt better about myself in every area of life, including my home.
[00:05:43] My circumstances did not change.
[00:05:45] I lived in the same house, made roughly the same income, had the same kids, roughly the same clothes, same debt.
[00:05:52] Everything was the same, except my own self-worth.
[00:05:56] I didn't find love again until I did little things every day that grew my self-worth and self-confidence,
[00:06:02] and created more harmony any way I could.
[00:06:09] You just listened to the post titled,
[00:06:12] Creating a Harmonized Home to Attract Love by Karen Stanley of MrsKarenStanley.com
[00:06:19] And thanks a lot to Karen for this simple yet powerful reminder.
[00:06:23] For those who have not gotten the memo yet,
[00:06:26] physical clutter equals mental clutter, and often vice versa.
[00:06:30] Surely everyone has different levels of orderliness that may not affect mood so much,
[00:06:35] I believe I can attest to that.
[00:06:37] But if you do find yourself stressed or not proud of your home,
[00:06:41] a good place to start is by removing things that you don't need.
[00:06:46] Keeping on top of a strict cleaning schedule or having too much order can be off-putting for some,
[00:06:51] but if you really want a house that invites like-minded people into your life,
[00:06:56] there is no better way to show who you are than by only having possessions that mean a lot to you
[00:07:02] or serve a useful purpose to you.
[00:07:04] So starting there and getting rid of things that don't serve you
[00:07:08] will help a lot of the mess dissipate before you even bring out the vacuum.
[00:07:12] And with that, we are going to wrap up for today everyone.
[00:07:15] Thanks a lot for being here.
[00:07:17] I really hope this post helped you rethink your space a little bit.
[00:07:20] Certainly did for me.
[00:07:21] Have a great start to your week folks,
[00:07:23] and be sure to come on back tomorrow on Tuesday
[00:07:25] as we continue the journey of bettering our relationships
[00:07:29] and where your optimal life awaits.
