[00:00:03] Like really good?

[00:00:05] Easy!

[00:00:06] You go to Aruba.

[00:00:07] You'll spend your time relaxing on cool white sand beaches and floating in healing

[00:00:12] blue water.

[00:00:13] You'll immerse yourself in natural wonder and find your center on an island where things

[00:00:18] move at your speed.

[00:00:19] You won't just feel great.

[00:00:21] You'll feel relaxed, renewed, and ready for life.

[00:00:25] That's the Aruba Effect.

[00:00:27] Plan your trip at the end. And don't forget, we have a bunch of shows narrating blogs. Just search for optimal living daily to find all of them. Now, today's post is a bit longer than what I typically narrate. So whenever that happens, I read the first half today and then finish it up for you tomorrow.

[00:01:41] So with that, let's get right to the first half

[00:01:43] as we optimize your life.

[00:02:43] myriad physiological processes in the human body. Our stress response then is the body's attempt at restoring homeostasis.

[00:02:48] This is absolutely necessary in reacting effectively to something that could endanger us.

[00:02:54] But we must define the stress response beyond just reactionary processes because the human

[00:02:59] ability to predict future stressors can induce a stress response to something that has yet

[00:03:05] to actually upright. Evolutionarily, extension was also a necessary component in response to a physical gait slightly to adapt to the running surface, to their muscle fatigue, and so on. A stressed human is one that cannot easily get into different body positions and shapes because they're rigid and stuck in extension, a crucial piece to high performance.

[00:05:40] If you can't get into a variety of positions, how can you possibly adapt to all the unpredictable

[00:05:46] situations life throws at you? the athlete is in a state of excessive inhalation, breathing on top of breathing, with inadequate exhalation, meaning they just can't get air out efficiently. This hyperinflated pattern of breathing can be asymmetric, we typically see the left ribcage flared more than the right, or symmetric, where both ribcages are flared.

[00:07:02] This, of course, contributes to the overextended posture You don't need me to tell you that something always comes up when you're running a small business. Take the pain out of payroll benefits and HR and put the joy back in running your business with Gusto. Gusto's payroll and HR services can make it a little easier. Gusto was designed for you, the small business owner. They take the pain out of running a business. Automatically calculating paychecks, filing payroll taxes, setting up open enrollment,

[00:08:24] Gusto does it all.

[00:08:26] Want more? change our response to it. In my experience, I don't often hear about the negative effects stress may have on our movements. We know, for example, that chronic stress may negatively affect our mental health and even our brain development. Not only that, but when it comes to our activity levels, chronic stress can make us feel more exhausted. And so we may not be able to run, cycle, or row as far

[00:09:43] or at the intensity we want.

[00:09:46] Or maybe we're not able to lift as much weight as we wanted to.
