[01:14.100 --> 01:22.100] And we're going to get right to today's posts as we optimize your life. [01:23.100 --> 01:31.100] 11 habits that will give you a complete and successful life by Pete Zafro with MoneyMiniblog.com. [01:31.100 --> 01:37.100] I love to study successful people, and I don't just mean the financially successful. [01:37.100 --> 01:42.100] I'm talking about the people who are successful in their internal and external world. [01:42.100 --> 01:47.100] These are the people who live with inner peace and outer joy and fulfillment. [01:47.100 --> 01:54.100] I've learned that success leaves clues as long as you're following the path of those who have achieved what you're after, [01:54.100 --> 01:58.100] you'll start picking up what it took them to get to where they are. [01:58.100 --> 02:05.100] In this post, you'll learn 11 different habits that I've learned and observed from people who make the most out of life. [02:05.100 --> 02:12.100] In the best part, you can model these habits into your life and live a more complete and successful life. [02:13.100 --> 02:18.100] 1. Work on your mindset. Thoughts become things. [02:18.100 --> 02:22.100] The quality of our life is determined by the quality of our thoughts. [02:22.100 --> 02:28.100] How we see and feel about life will ultimately shape how we live and experience it. [02:28.100 --> 02:34.100] If we see life as a constant battle for pain, then that's exactly what you'll be feeling. [02:34.100 --> 02:40.100] If you see life as a gift full of wonderful things, then you'll be living life appreciating pretty much everything, [02:40.100 --> 02:43.100] no matter how big or small. [02:43.100 --> 02:49.100] If you want to reach the next level in life, then you must first work on your mindset. [02:49.100 --> 02:56.100] Things will come and challenge us, and it's our mindset which determines how we react and move past them. [02:56.100 --> 03:04.100] I've come to learn that in order to succeed in anything, it takes 20% hard work and 80% mindset. [03:04.100 --> 03:08.100] It's important to know that your brain is just like your stomach. [03:08.100 --> 03:15.100] You need to constantly feed it with quality information, the stuff that allows you to grow and reach new heights, [03:15.100 --> 03:22.100] nourish it, strengthen it, and use your mind to make your dreams and goals come true. [03:22.100 --> 03:24.100] 2. Be grateful. [03:24.100 --> 03:29.100] Have you ever seen a man that's happy but not thankful? [03:29.100 --> 03:30.100] Never. [03:30.100 --> 03:34.100] I've seen people with literally nothing back in the Philippines, yet they're happy. [03:34.100 --> 03:37.100] They're thankful for everything that they have. [03:37.100 --> 03:42.100] They don't complain or blame other people for their scarcity and poverty. [03:42.100 --> 03:47.100] These days, you can see the rich and super wealthy throw everything away in a blink of an eye. [03:47.100 --> 03:52.100] Remember the saying, you never know what you've lost until it's gone? [03:52.100 --> 03:56.100] Well, that applies not only to rich people but to everyone in life. [03:56.100 --> 03:59.100] It doesn't have to be Thanksgiving for anyone to be thankful. [03:59.100 --> 04:03.100] Always be thankful for the people who support you, the food you eat, [04:03.100 --> 04:09.100] the home you live in, your ability to hear this post, and most importantly, [04:09.100 --> 04:12.100] the fact that your heart is beating. [04:12.100 --> 04:15.100] Be thankful for life itself. [04:15.100 --> 04:18.100] 3. Take care of your body. [04:18.100 --> 04:22.100] Our bodies are our machines that allow us to get things done. [04:22.100 --> 04:30.100] If we don't take care of our bodies, we're actually doing harm not only to our life but the lives of others as well. [04:30.100 --> 04:36.100] For example, if you're a parent, how can you be there for your family if you keep getting sick? [04:36.100 --> 04:45.100] If you're still single but not taking care of yourself, well, how can you take care of yourself financially, physically, emotionally? [04:45.100 --> 04:49.100] Take care of your body. It's your most valuable asset. [04:49.100 --> 04:52.100] Get the right amount of sleep your body needs. [04:52.100 --> 04:55.100] Go take a walk. Go to the gym and work out. [04:55.100 --> 04:58.100] Get some sweat on. Drink more water. [04:58.100 --> 05:01.100] Start eating balanced meals. [05:01.100 --> 05:06.100] 4. Give respect. Respect goes a long way. [05:06.100 --> 05:12.100] It's important for relationships at work, family, friends, and for your special other. [05:12.100 --> 05:15.100] Respect will allow you to reach new heights. [05:15.100 --> 05:18.100] It's how we grow and move forward in our relationships. [05:18.100 --> 05:21.100] Building relationships is what it's all about these days. [05:21.100 --> 05:23.100] That's what social media is all about. [05:23.100 --> 05:31.100] When you respect other people, you immediately and subconsciously give them a message on how they should be treating you. [05:31.100 --> 05:37.100] No matter how young or old, people are people and people deserve respect. [05:37.100 --> 05:42.100] We all have feelings, dreams, goals, and certain ideals. [05:42.100 --> 05:47.100] We need to respect that, even if their beliefs or opinions don't match yours. [05:47.100 --> 05:54.100] If someone's opinion or belief bothers you that much and won't help you in life, then spend less time with that person. [05:54.100 --> 05:58.100] 5. Don't partake in gossip. [05:58.100 --> 06:02.100] Gossip is a destructive and negative habit. [06:02.100 --> 06:09.100] It does nothing but destroy and shatter another person's image, and usually the stuff you say or hear [06:09.100 --> 06:11.100] aren't even close to being true. [06:11.100 --> 06:15.100] It goes back to the previous habit. Respect. [06:15.100 --> 06:20.100] You're better than that. Don't fall prey to gossip. You won't be needing it. [06:20.100 --> 06:24.100] 6. Remind yourself of your goals. [06:24.100 --> 06:30.100] We all have dreams and goals. Sometimes, however, it's not clear and specific enough. [06:30.100 --> 06:35.100] Write it down and make sure it's extremely clear and specific. [06:35.100 --> 06:43.100] Set the intention and put it out there when, where, how, and why you're going to achieve your goal. [06:43.100 --> 06:47.100] Read it daily when you get up and before bed. [06:47.100 --> 06:49.100] Put it somewhere where you can easily spot it. [06:49.100 --> 06:59.100] Create a vision board, which is a series of images that show everything you'd like to achieve, like your dream home, a car, family, etc. [06:59.100 --> 07:02.100] and put it right next to your list of goals. [07:02.100 --> 07:12.100] Wire your goals deep within your subconscious mind, and subconsciously your actions will start moving you closer and closer to making them a reality. [07:12.100 --> 07:20.100] Next thing you know, you're acting, thinking, and talking as if you've already achieved your goals. [07:20.100 --> 07:23.100] 7. Read more books. [07:23.100 --> 07:26.100] Life is a never-ending learning experience. [07:26.100 --> 07:30.100] The day we stop learning is the day when we stop growing. [07:30.100 --> 07:36.100] Just because we're not in a classroom scenario anymore doesn't mean the learning should stop. [07:36.100 --> 07:38.100] Invest a lot in yourself. [07:38.100 --> 07:40.100] You are your greatest asset. [07:40.100 --> 07:49.100] Whatever problem or issue you're experiencing, odds are someone has already experienced it or something similar to it and has written about it. [07:49.100 --> 07:52.100] Reach out and train your brain. [07:52.100 --> 07:55.100] Our body isn't the only part that needs to work out. [07:55.100 --> 07:57.100] Our brains need it too. [07:57.100 --> 08:01.100] The more books you read, the more you expand the horizons of your mind. [08:01.100 --> 08:05.100] Make it a goal to read one to two books every single month. [08:05.100 --> 08:08.100] 8. Be humble. [08:08.100 --> 08:12.100] Our egos, if not under control, can be destructive. [08:12.100 --> 08:19.100] We can be arrogant, or we can underestimate the skills of certain people, which then make them feel bad. [08:19.100 --> 08:25.100] Being humble will not only nurture our relationships, but will make success last longer. [08:25.100 --> 08:30.100] Tone down any sign of ego or pride and humble yourself. [08:30.100 --> 08:37.100] Be humble enough to know and accept that, no matter who you are, there are always things that you'll encounter that you will. [08:37.100 --> 08:39.100] You wouldn't know the answer to. [08:39.100 --> 08:45.100] No matter how good you are at something, there will always be someone out there that's better. [08:45.100 --> 08:47.100] Don't let that thought bring you down. [08:47.100 --> 08:51.100] Let that thought inspire you to work harder on yourself. [08:51.100 --> 08:55.100] 9. Give and serve. [08:55.100 --> 09:04.100] People who know how to give and serve are always loved, supported, respected and are always happy individuals. [09:04.100 --> 09:07.100] Happiness is best when shared. [09:07.100 --> 09:10.100] Selfish people live a sad life. [09:10.100 --> 09:14.100] Giving creates a sense of fulfillment, joy and happiness. [09:14.100 --> 09:19.100] Knowing that you're changing lives one at a time is a feeling like no other. [09:19.100 --> 09:25.100] No matter how small and active kindness can be, it can make the biggest difference in someone else's life. [09:25.100 --> 09:31.100] And I always believe that the small things always pile up to create something ginormous. [09:31.100 --> 09:38.100] Become a person who lives to serve and knows how to give to others that need something more than you do. [09:38.100 --> 09:42.100] 10. Move past rejection. [09:42.100 --> 09:44.100] We all get ideas, different kinds. [09:44.100 --> 09:48.100] Sometimes people love it and sometimes people don't. [09:48.100 --> 09:50.100] Rejection is a part of life. [09:50.100 --> 09:57.100] And what you should realize is when people reject your ideas, it does not mean that they're rejecting you. [09:57.100 --> 10:03.100] Use rejection as an inspiration to work harder on yourself instead of bringing yourself down. [10:03.100 --> 10:08.100] Keep moving forward and leave the past where it should be, the past. [10:08.100 --> 10:11.100] Make it a habit to keep moving forward no matter what. [10:11.100 --> 10:18.100] Our goal is to become a better version of ourselves than we were yesterday, so never take rejections too personally. [10:18.100 --> 10:24.100] 11. Strive to learn more from people who know more. [10:24.100 --> 10:29.100] Be a hunter of human excellence and model your life after theirs. [10:29.100 --> 10:32.100] Find a mentor that you respect and admire. [10:32.100 --> 10:38.100] Study them and model their habits, mindsets, and work ethics to your life. [10:38.100 --> 10:45.100] Surround yourself around greatness long enough and eventually that greatness will rub off to you. [10:45.100 --> 10:53.100] Next thing you know, you'll start thinking, talking, acting, moving, and working like a successful person. [10:53.100 --> 10:57.100] Remember, you become who you're with. [10:57.100 --> 11:03.100] Integrate these 11 habits into your life and you'll notice a big change. [11:03.100 --> 11:10.100] Each and every day you'll grow happier and closer or even attract more success your way. [13:01.100 --> 13:05.100] Think you'd repeat a guest writer on Money Mini Blog? [13:05.100 --> 13:09.100] The second one, Gratitude, is something that comes up pretty frequently here on this show, [13:09.100 --> 13:15.100] because some great studies are showing how much power Gratitude can have. [13:15.100 --> 13:18.100] If we're truly grateful, of course. [13:18.100 --> 13:23.100] It actually reminds me of something nice that happened recently that made my day. [13:23.100 --> 13:30.100] I had to have a notary come over, and one of the spots I had to fill in was my job, [13:30.100 --> 13:33.100] and I wrote optimal living daily there. [13:33.100 --> 13:38.100] He saw it and then said, optimal living daily, that's a podcast, right? [13:38.100 --> 13:41.100] And I was like, yeah, you know it? [13:41.100 --> 13:44.100] And he said, I've been listening for years. [13:44.100 --> 13:46.100] That's where articles are read every day. [13:46.100 --> 13:48.100] Wait, you're just in the host? [13:48.100 --> 13:50.100] I thought your voice sounded familiar. [13:50.100 --> 13:55.100] And I was shocked, because in the many, many years of this podcast, [13:55.100 --> 14:01.100] I've never had a stranger recognize my name or the podcast name, [14:01.100 --> 14:04.100] and that's with the podcast name being on the back of my car, too. [14:04.100 --> 14:06.100] No one's ever said anything. [14:06.100 --> 14:12.100] So we got to talking, and he mentioned that his girlfriend gave him a Gratitude Journal [14:12.100 --> 14:14.100] and that he's been using it. [14:14.100 --> 14:17.100] So I think with how often it's brought up on this show, [14:17.100 --> 14:22.100] and since it's been proven to be helpful, it could make for a great gift. [14:22.100 --> 14:25.100] I thought that was a nice idea. [14:25.100 --> 14:29.100] So thank you to John the notary for sharing that and for listening for years. [14:29.100 --> 14:33.100] Thank you for being here, and especially thank you if you've been listening for years, [14:33.100 --> 14:37.100] wishing you a great rest of your day, and I'll see you tomorrow as usual, [14:37.100 --> 14:41.100] where your optimal life awaits.
