[00:01:04] You can write and embody a new story for your life by Christa O'Reilly, Davi DeGee
[00:01:09] of a Life in Progress.ca and a narrator, Justin Malik, reading you articles to help bring
[00:01:15] a bit more positivity, happiness and motivation to your day.
[00:01:20] So now let's get right to it as we optimize your life.
[00:01:27] You can write and embody a new story for your life by Christa O'Reilly, Davi DeGee
[00:01:32] of a Life in Progress.ca.
[00:01:36] I saw myself carrying sloppy buckets of joy, one in each hand.
[00:01:40] They splashed over onto my bare feet as I slowly walked up the grassy path.
[00:01:45] Moments before I saw in my mind's eye a big gaping wound being stitched up and heard
[00:01:50] the clear, resounding thought.
[00:01:53] This is no longer your story.
[00:01:55] You will write a new story.
[00:01:58] I realized with the tinge of self-doubt and a profound sense of awe that I had become
[00:02:03] a joy carrier, an imperfect and beautiful carrier of messy, hopeful, life-giving joy.
[00:02:11] How is that possible?
[00:02:13] In the midst of struggle, I learned that I am enough.
[00:02:17] In the past seven years I returned to school, started writing, launched babies into the
[00:02:22] world as I launched a new business, struggled with fear, anxiety and suicidal thoughts, but
[00:02:28] also learned to ask for help and advocate for my needs.
[00:02:31] I walked through surgery, chronic pain, and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.
[00:02:37] I practiced embracing the truth of what I want, honored my writing, and learned to shore
[00:02:42] up leaky boundaries.
[00:02:44] I've buried people I love, said yes to adventure, worked really hard, it gave myself permission
[00:02:50] to rest.
[00:02:51] I've put down deep, strong roots of self-awareness and self-compassion.
[00:02:55] And I picked up joy along the way, enough to share.
[00:03:00] What happens when you're thirsty and dip into the bucket of joy is that you come up not
[00:03:05] just quenched but awake?
[00:03:07] You wake into an important truth, a life-altering, mind-bending, heart-healing truth.
[00:03:15] You are enough.
[00:03:17] You are messy and imperfect, and sometimes afraid because you're human, and still learning
[00:03:22] and growing.
[00:03:23] And also, you are enough.
[00:03:26] You struggle on question and wrestle and some weeks alternate between big belly laughs
[00:03:31] and broken ugly sobs, and it's all okay.
[00:03:35] You're in a seasoned heart transition and trying to find your way again, or even never
[00:03:39] really known who you are and what you want.
[00:03:42] Messy and still enough.
[00:03:45] You are beautiful and gifted, and uniquely wired.
[00:03:49] You're lovable and you merit space on this earth.
[00:03:52] You are messy and beautiful, and yes, you are enough.
[00:03:57] It's a message that's been circling for years now, and you may even feel a little tired
[00:04:01] of it.
[00:04:02] Yet it bears repeating till the cows come home.
[00:04:05] It seems to me that every one of my clients and class participants with their very life
[00:04:09] experiences, personalities, and personal challenges need to hear this.
[00:04:14] If you're still learning this, you're certainly not alone.
[00:04:18] We need to move this truth from our head to our heart and keep watering it until it
[00:04:23] lives deeply rooted in our bodies.
[00:04:26] You are enough.
[00:04:27] You are enough.
[00:04:29] You are exceedingly more than enough.
[00:04:32] You can build a joy-filled, purposeful life and define what enough looks and feels like
[00:04:38] for yourself.
[00:04:40] You can stop comparing and measuring yourself up against other people or against your own
[00:04:43] graceless, impossible standards.
[00:04:46] You can own your long-held dream and offer your small gifts.
[00:04:50] The essential work is to learn you're capable of showing up in doing hard things.
[00:04:55] This is more important than accomplishing anything or hitting a particular goal.
[00:04:59] You can realize there is room for you here.
[00:05:02] You can honor your writing and leverage your strengths.
[00:05:05] You don't have to look like anyone else or know for sure where you're heading.
[00:05:09] You can be raw and real.
[00:05:11] It is enough.
[00:05:13] You can learn to put down strong, healthy roots of self-awareness and self-compassion.
[00:05:18] When we decide to love ourselves, we can love others well and affect change.
[00:05:23] You can finally tell the truth about what you want and learn to love yourself well,
[00:05:28] shift course, let go of what no longer serves, and build a joyful, purposeful life.
[00:05:34] We can forgive yourself for doing your imperfect best and shake off all the self-judgment
[00:05:39] and critical thoughts and realize that today, this simple ornary, beautiful day is a fresh
[00:05:47] start.
[00:05:48] You can loosen your grip on what you thought your life would look like, open wide to joyful
[00:05:52] possibility, and decide to show up every day determined, stubborn, and full of excitement.
[00:05:59] You can embrace that a full, beautiful life is also sometimes a stressful or uncertain
[00:06:04] one.
[00:06:05] That perfection and arriving are never the goal.
[00:06:09] Today is the only real promise we have, saying yes to joy.
[00:06:14] I have no idea where the next seven years or the next seven days will lead.
[00:06:19] That isn't my business.
[00:06:21] My business is to decide that I will show up and the mindset with which I'll show up,
[00:06:27] and that when life feels hard and I forget I am loved and needed, I will show up anyway.
[00:06:33] And I get to choose joy every day.
[00:06:36] If you're here then I believe you're looking for something, maybe freedom or self-compassion
[00:06:42] or maybe want to learn to dance with fear.
[00:06:45] Perhaps you're seeking joy.
[00:06:47] Maybe you realize you are ready to write a new story.
[00:06:51] Step out onto the path with me and see where it leads.
[00:06:54] We can invite joy to come along as our faithful companion.

[00:08:56] Thank you to Krista.
[00:08:57] She had a note added to this post so I'll share that now.
[00:09:01] Quote.
[00:09:03] Edited to add,
[00:09:04] not longer after I wrote this post my son tried to die for the first time.
[00:09:10] We fought alongside him for life.
[00:09:12] We were in a traumatic car accident.
[00:09:15] My son ended his life.
[00:09:17] COVID hit.
[00:09:19] I lived 17 months with PTSD and severe panic disorder.
[00:09:23] And somehow I'm still standing and breathing and carrying around these sloppy buckets of joy.
[00:09:30] There is enough to share.
[00:09:32] End quote.
[00:09:34] That is a lot to go through.
[00:09:36] We've all experienced challenges and hardships, but imagine going through all of those things within
[00:09:41] a relatively short period of time not to mention all the other things she went through that
[00:09:45] she didn't mention in this post or that she did too.
[00:09:49] And still saying I'm still standing and breathing and carrying around these sloppy buckets
[00:09:54] of joy there is enough to share.
[00:09:57] Don't forget that things could always be worse, but not only that, but when it feels
[00:10:02] like it's the worst of times it can be better too.
[00:10:04] It's really a conscious choice despite the difficulty and challenge of that choice.
[00:10:10] Hopefully Krista's perspective can help today.
[00:10:12] So have a joyful day.
[00:10:13] I appreciate you being here and listening every day.
[00:10:16] Thank you for that and I'll see you tomorrow where your optimal life awaits.
