[00:01:02] Three Reasons to Believe in the Law of Attraction by Joel Bein of JoelBind.com

[00:01:08] And I'm Justin Malik.

[00:01:10] I read to you every day with permission from the authors.

[00:01:13] Now let's get right to it as we optimize your life.

[00:01:18] Three Reasons to Believe in the Law of Attraction by Joel Bein of JoelBind.com

[00:01:28] I barely care if the law of attraction is real.

[00:01:32] Yes, I'm always up for a good metaphysical conversation about how the universe works.

[00:01:37] It matters to me to understand reality.

[00:01:39] But what most matters to me is can I gain value from the law of attraction?

[00:01:45] That means being as healthfully selfish as possible.

[00:01:49] And when it comes to a life I feel lit up about,

[00:01:52] I'll draw in any tool that can nourish and nurture that.

[00:01:56] What is the law of attraction?

[00:01:59] Jack Canfield defines the law of attraction this way.

[00:02:03] The law of attraction is a universal principle that states

[00:02:07] you will attract into your life whatever you focus on.

[00:02:11] Whatever you give your energy and attention to is what will come back to you.

[00:02:16] When you focus on the abundance of good things in your life,

[00:02:19] you'll automatically attract more positive things into your life.

[00:02:23] But if you center yourself on negative thoughts and only focus on what you lack in life,

[00:02:29] then you'll ultimately attract negativity into your life

[00:02:32] and what you want most will continue to elude you.

[00:02:37] Put succinctly, your thoughts and feelings attract your future experiences.

[00:02:44] You still may wonder, do I believe this is true with 100% metaphysical certainty?

[00:02:50] I won't answer that right here.

[00:02:52] Why?

[00:02:53] Because my point to you today is to invite you to engage with the law of attraction,

[00:02:58] to be curious about it, to test it out, and entertain it as a possibility.

[00:03:04] Most people will either go all in when they learn about the law of attraction

[00:03:08] and unquestionably or dogmatically try to use it,

[00:03:12] or will immediately reject and dismiss it and use a thought-terminating cliche like

[00:03:17] woo-woo so that no further examination or effort is necessary.

[00:03:22] Can you perhaps choose a third option?

[00:03:25] Entertain it without accepting it.

[00:03:29] It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain an idea without accepting it.

[00:03:37] Aristotle.

[00:03:38] I like the as if it were true approach.

[00:03:41] Try assuming the law of attraction is real for 30 days.

[00:03:45] Then you can go back and reflect on and measure your results.

[00:03:49] But if you won't allow yourself to jump in the fishbowl,

[00:03:52] you won't know what it's like to be a fish.

[00:03:56] With this mindset priming complete, here are my three reasons to believe in the law of attraction.

[00:04:03] Number one, it's about feeling good.

[00:04:07] At its core, the law of attraction is about thinking good thoughts and feeling good feelings.

[00:04:12] Isn't that a good enough reason to try it out?

[00:04:15] This doesn't mean you pretend you aren't feeling negative feelings though.

[00:04:19] Actually, the skill set of the law of attraction involves watching your negative thoughts and feelings

[00:04:24] and then actively learning to redirect and transmit them to new thoughts and feelings.

[00:04:29] That's a powerful skill set in and of itself.

[00:04:33] You are learning to empower your mindset to one of empowerment.

[00:04:38] Even if the law of attraction isn't metaphysically real,

[00:04:42] it's worth building this skill set, in my opinion.

[00:04:45] Number two, you'll expand your imagination.

[00:04:49] One of the fun elements of the law of attraction is daydreaming, imagining, and envisioning possibilities in life.

[00:04:57] For instance, one game Esther Hicks recommends is the Wouldn't It Be Nice If Game.

[00:05:04] The purpose of this practice is to simply invite your mind to think about positive events unfolding.

[00:05:10] For example, wouldn't it be nice if I suddenly got a raise?

[00:05:14] Wouldn't it be nice if I felt refreshed after waking in the morning?

[00:05:18] Wouldn't it be nice if my dream company reached out to me?

[00:05:22] Wouldn't it be nice if I went to dinner with my spouse tomorrow night?

[00:05:26] And so on.

[00:05:27] Simply imagining nice things happening plants the seed for them to come true

[00:05:32] while also allowing you to feel more joyful feelings

[00:05:36] and expanding your imagination for what you want to experience during this life.

[00:05:41] Scientifically, the reticular activating system, or RAS,

[00:05:45] lights up in the brain as you envision good events unfolding.

[00:05:50] Even if the law of attraction isn't real metaphysically, this visioning in the brain

[00:05:55] is basic for what you want to occur to actually occur.

[00:05:59] If you want to make yourself eggs, you first imagine yourself making the eggs.

[00:06:04] Now I can already hear you saying,

[00:06:06] but I don't want to fall for wishful thinking and just pretend good things are going to happen.

[00:06:11] I need to be based in reality.

[00:06:13] Well, fair enough.

[00:06:15] But can you do both?

[00:06:17] Allowing yourself to feel joyful feelings seems worthwhile in and of itself.

[00:06:22] You can still monitor reality to see what's actually happening in the present.

[00:06:27] But who knows, maybe one moment you'll realize

[00:06:30] that the event you imagined a month ago actually comes true.

[00:06:35] And number three, you'll start to believe in yourself.

[00:06:39] A huge part of the law of attraction is the art of positive expectation

[00:06:44] and allowing your dreams to come to you.

[00:06:47] In other words, you learn to trust yourself and the results that are on their way.

[00:06:52] Rather than stay in a mode of fear that nothing good will happen,

[00:06:56] you begin to expect, believe, and even assume that good things are unfolding for you.

[00:07:03] Another term for this is unwavering faith.

[00:07:07] Think of the relentless mindset Michael Jordan had as a basketball player.

[00:07:11] No matter if he had missed the past nine shots in a given game,

[00:07:15] he wouldn't stop believing that the very next shot he took would work out for him.

[00:07:20] He was determined and he believed in himself.

[00:07:23] Entertaining the law of attraction as a real possibility

[00:07:26] is ultimately the opportunity to step into unwavering faith in yourself.

[00:07:32] Whatever the metaphysical truth is about how the law of attraction works,

[00:07:36] that faith seems inconvertibly valuable.

[00:07:41] A final word on taking action.

[00:07:44] As you go on your way, remember that no matter how skilled your mind,

[00:07:48] hard action is needed to create results in your life.

[00:07:52] You can't skip that.

[00:07:54] At the same time, you can also let go of the forced grinding,

[00:07:58] make it happen type mindset that many high achievers take on.

[00:08:02] As a new approach, the law of attraction invites you to step into a place of allowance and trust,

[00:08:09] knowing and expecting good events to happen while you take the necessary action.

[00:08:15] Above all in hearing this post,

[00:08:18] I hope you take a mindset of abundance and self-interest, asking yourself,

[00:08:23] how can I find value in what I just heard?

[00:08:30] You just listened to the post titled

[00:08:32] Three Reasons to Believe in the Law of Attraction by Joel Bein of joelbein.com

[00:08:38] and I'll be right back with my commentary.

[00:08:40] Being in control of my health means being super mindful of what I put in my body,

[00:08:44] from food to supplements.

[00:08:46] I'm always trying to find the best option out there,

[00:08:48] which is why I am so excited to tell you all about Thorn.

[00:08:52] With Thorn, I never have to question what's in each supplement

[00:08:55] because they go the extra mile when it comes to quality, manufacturing and ingredients.

[00:09:01] In fact, they use such thorough testing and a super clean manufacturing process,

[00:09:05] they've earned some of the highest certifications in the industry.

[00:09:08] I even looked them up myself on a third party lab testing site because I'm super careful.

[00:09:13] And after reading the reviews for their GI relief supplement,

[00:09:17] I tried it myself and so far, it's working wonders.

[00:09:21] Give your body what it really needs with Thorn.

[00:09:23] Go to thorn.fit.optimal and use code optimal for 10% off your first order.

[00:09:29] That's T-H-O-R-N-E.F-I-T.

[00:09:33] slash optimal, code optimal for 10% off your first order.

[00:09:37] Thorn.fit.optimal, code optimal.

[00:09:40] These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.

[00:09:44] This product is not limited to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

[00:09:49] Thank you to Joel.

[00:09:51] Clearly it's not enough to just think good things are going to happen

[00:09:55] and then sit on the couch and do nothing all day and expect that to happen.

[00:10:00] That would probably be delusional.

[00:10:03] But I do think there is something to positivity and imagining good situations

[00:10:08] and then having a better outcome.

[00:10:10] And that's partially why this podcast exists in the first place.

[00:10:14] I figure if we both get to take in one positive article a day,

[00:10:19] that could lead to a more positive outlook for the day,

[00:10:23] which then could bring more positivity back towards us.

[00:10:26] A simple premise that I don't think is a big stretch

[00:10:30] and it luckily doesn't take too much work to get through just one article.

[00:10:35] And for me, I know I spent a good portion of my life imagining life as an entrepreneur.

[00:10:41] For me it's just a matter of time, not so much resistance or pessimism about making it happen.

[00:10:47] And I do think that constant in the back of my mind did push me towards making that vision into a reality.

[00:10:54] So good one from Joel to think about today.

[00:10:57] Hopefully this one was inspiring for you and you were able to get some value from it.

[00:11:01] That's what you do for today. Have a great rest of your day

[00:11:04] and I'll be back here tomorrow as usual where your optimal life awaits.
